  5. This is a small program (54K) that provides a pop-up window in DOS to
  6. write notes of up to 100 lines @ 38 characters/line and keeps track
  7. of phone numbers in a Rolodex file.  Phone numbers can be dialed
  8. through the modem without having to do anything more than picking up
  9. the phone when you get an answer.  Thanks to Jeff Sumberg at
  10. Sailboard(2) BBS (201-831-8152), and his QBSER21, you can use a modem
  11. set up as COM port 1, 2, 3 or 4.

  13. To use the program, place the CALLNOTE.EXE file and the NAME.LST and
  14. the NOTE.LST files in the same directory and run CALLNOTE from this
  15. directory.  Notes you write are stored as plain ASCII text in
  16. NOTE.LST and phone numbers are stored in NAME.LST.  You have the
  17. opportunity to add a note to a number when using PhoneBook.

  19. As you use the program, note that the command area is in the top 2
  20. lines of the window.  Commands are single letters and can be either
  21. upper case or lower case, it doesn't matter.  There is no need to
  22. enter a carriage return at the end of the line, since word wrap is
  23. activated in places where it is useful -- just keep typing.  The only
  24. exception to this rule is when responding to the "TOPIC" line in the
  25. NoteBook section.  Here, you are limited to a maximum of 31
  26. characters and there MUST be a carriage return before, or at, the
  27. 31st character.

  29. This program is offered as shareware.  If you find that you like it
  30. and use it, search under NoteBook for CALLNOTE and do what it says
  31. there.  This keeps people like Jeff & I writing for you folks!  If
  32. you want to get Jeff's QBSER21, call his board.  I can recommend this
  33. program to anyone working with doors on a BBS or wanting to overcome
  34. QuickBasic's limitations on utilization of COM ports.
